While the parts of violin 1, viola 1 and cello 1 include challenging passages (up to the 3rd/4th position), the parts of violin 2, viola 2 and cello 2 can be played by students in the first or second year of learning the instrument. These parts also contain pleasing melodies, not just accompaniment.

Authors portrait

Andrea Holzer-Rhomberg completed her studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg and at the Vienna University of Music. She has been teaching violin, viola and string ensembles at the Feldkirch Music School for many years. The author of the well-established violin/viola tutor series "Fiedel-Max" is also regularly active as a jury member at youth music competitions at home and abroad as well as in music school teacher training: Her seminars on string-specific topics from a holistic perspective are very well received! Since 2016 she has been running her string pedagogy blog www.passion4stringteaching.com. Andrea Holzer-Rhomberg is head of the strings department in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
